Item of the Week: Connoisseurs Jewelry Cleaner

I'm going to start right away by admitting that this is a nostalgic product for me.  I remember watching my mom clean her jewelry with this cleaner.  My five-year-old self would try on each of her rings as she pulled them out to be polished and think of how important she must be to have so many beautiful rings, necklaces, and earrings to clean.  Many of her rings were inherited from my great aunts and grandmothers and I would love to hear her tell stories about them as she cleaned their jewelry.
One day shortly after settling into my own new home with my new husband, I realized I needed a jewelry cleaner to keep my brand new diamond ring as sparkly as the day he'd given it to me.  I didn't know what to look for in a cleaner, but as soon as I saw this little red bottle, all of my childhood memories came flooding back.
That was it, I haven't even tried any other cleaner.  But in all honesty, I haven't needed to.  This brand, Connoisseurs Jewelry Cleaner, has cleaned my mother's jewelry and my jewelry for decades.  One container usually lasts me at least a year or two, and my rings come out looking sparkly and new each time.  Another perk?  You can usually find this cleaner for less than $5! (Use your Bed, Bath, and Beyond coupon code to get it for even less and purchase it here: Connoisseur's Jewelry Cleaner)
While the directions on my container are already worn off, using this cleaner is pretty easy.  Inside the container is a basket.  Drop your jewelry into the basket and submerge for at least 5 minutes.  Next, remove the basket, pull out the cleaning wand (which is cleverly contained in the spindle of the basket), and gently brush your jewelry.  Once you finish loosening the dirt and grime caught in the prongs of the jewelry, run it under warm-hot water (make SURE to plug your sink drain first!!!).  Pat the piece of jewelry clean and voila!  Sparkly and new as the day you bought it!
